Hiking Hong Kong Victoria Peak Loop Trail
Victoria Peak Trail starts at The Peak so your best bet is to take the peak tram up here at a cost of HK$22 bucks. As is expected you can get some great shots of the city from up here. This hike is very much family orientated with signage displaying wildlife and fauna found in the surrounding areas.
Trail enjoyment ranks in at 3 stars due to the fact that the trail is 100% concrete and is mostly flat. Although it does offer great views of Central and features some beautiful tree lined paths along the way, it is rather short and simple. Difficulty ranks in at 1 star because the trail is almost totally flat and very short in duration at approximately 45 minutes.
You'll want to purchase water before arriving at the peak because everything is ridiculously expensive up here - tourist prices.

Starting from the peak tram terminus turn right and keep to the right and head into Lugard Road where you will see a sign pointing to the beginning of the Hong Kong Trail. The start of this trail follows Hong Kong Trail Stage 1. Head in the general direction of the white building up ahead.

If you are doing the tourist thing as well as going for a hike it is highly recommended to check out the pollution levels for the day, as often this affects visibility greatly. Also check cloud cover, as on days with high humidity, or a chance of rain, may result in poor visibility.

The Victoria Peak Trail offers a tremendous number of photo opportunities and therefore can extend the amount of time it takes to complete this hike should you take snaps along the way.
The entire length of this trail comes complete with much information on the local flowers, trees and animals which reside in the area. If you are interested, take the time to read these signposts as they are very informative.
Be sure to look frequently to the right as you can see some great views of the harbour in between the trees.

At the beginning of this trail there are abundant photo opportunities as you can see from my collection here.

The trail continues down a gentle slope and winds at times precariously around the mountains edge. If you are afraid of heights, make sure you don't peer over the edge, because there is nothing to see but a very long drop off.

Bamboo Scaffolding is another great tourist attraction since most scaffolding overseas is metal based.

The trees that hang over the path are beautiful and make for some fantastic shots. Be sure to bring your camera, batteries and a spare memory card.

At the park, continue straight, following the signpost that points back to the Peak Tram Station.

There is a lovely waterfall along here which is very hard to take a photo of due to its size!

Returning back to the Peak, continue to do the tourist thing, or head back to wherever you came from!
