Hiking Hong Kong quoted by HK Magazine
“High pollution levels in Hong Kong can be directly related to the number of visitors to my hiking website. When there are blue skies, visitor numbers soar and likewise when pollution skyrockets, visitor numbers drop right off. There is only so much that I can do to promote Hong Kong’s vast array of hiking trails. The rest comes from the government’s commitment to caring for the health of its people by cleaning up our dirty skies.”

A few more changes to the website have been made:
The hiking list to the right has been highlighted in a box so that you cannot miss it. Plus icons have been added as bullets for those menu items that expand/collapse.
A Site Map has been added which you can access from the main top menu. As our site expands, it is helpful to our visitors to be able to see everything that we offer on one easy page.
We have removed the Roz's Hiking Pages link due to the fact that we discovered over 20 broken links on their site. Hiking Hong Kong want to create a positive user experience so unfortunately it had to go, at least for the time-being until perhaps the website is updated. We will however continue to list Hiking Events organised by this group on our Hiking Calendar.
Hiking Hong Kong Website Saturday, 10th October 2009
So that you can find hiking trails near you as well as anything else on our website, we have added a Google search box above the Quick Links section.

Google Ads have been added to the website to the right, underneath the hiking list. Since hosting and domain renewal costs money, we need to ensure that we have adequate funds to keep the site up and running.
We have done our best to make them a little less visible by blending them into the coloring of the website to ensure they do not spoil the clean nature of our website. We have increased the size of the font in the hiking list so that it is more visible and easier to navigate.
We will do our best to keep them relevant for our users.

Hiking in Hong Kong comes with it's health risks, unfortunately, due to the pollution levels that we have to face in this country. As a result we have added the Greenpeace Air Pollution Index map to our website so that you can check what the air pollution is like in the area you are going hiking.
This map is great as it measures concentrations of air pollutants according to World Health Organization standards and tells you which air pollutants have exceeded the World Health Organization standards and by how much.
Check out the Greenpeace Air Pollution Index Map here.
