The public should beware of heatstroke.When engaged in outdoor work or activities, drink more water and avoid over exertion. If not feeling well, take a rest in the shade or cooler place as soon as possible.People staying indoors without air-conditioning should keep windows open as far as possible to ensure that there is adequate ventilation.Avoid prolonged exposure under sunlight. Loose clothing, suitable hats and UV-blocking sunglasses can reduce the chance of sunburn by solar ultraviolet radiation.Swimmers and those taking part in outdoor activities should use a sunscreen lotion of SPF 15 or above, and should re-apply it frequently.Beware of health and wellbeing of elderly or persons with chronic medical conditions. A southerly airstream is affecting the coast of Guangdong. Locally, it was very hot in the afternoon. Temperatures over many places rose to around 34 degrees.
Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow:Mainly fine. One or two showers tomorrow morning. The minimum temperature will be about 28 degrees. Very hot during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 33 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Moderate southerly winds, occasionally fresh offshore.
