A band of intense thundery showers is bringing heavy showers and thunderstorms to the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary. Locally, more than 50 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places in the past few hours, and rainfall even exceeded 80 millimetres over parts of the Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. Meanwhile, a fresh easterly airstream is affecting the coastal areas of Guangdong.
