Hong Pak Country Trail is one of my personal favorites in Hong Kong, and on Hong Kong Island. It is short, offers some great views, and has various wildlife to see along the way. The paths are mostly unpaved and the geological formations keep things interesting.
You can get to the beginning of Hong Pak Country Trail by first walking up Mount Parker Road about 1.5km. Another alternative is to first complete Quarry Bay Jogging Trail. It is a bit of a pain to have to walk all the way up Mount Parker Road to get to the start of this trail, however, one benefit is that it is all downhill from here.
How to Get to the Trail Head

Hong Pak Country Trail ends near Tai Koo. It is about a 1km walk down to the MTR station. Alternatively you could continue onto Quarry Bay Tree Walk, Wilson Trail Stage 2 Reversed, or turn around and do Hong Pak Trail Reversed.

First off, here is a map of the mobile network coverage of Hong Pak Country Trail. Take note of telephone booth locations and poor network coverage areas just in case you or one of your team members should have an accident. It is also useful to note the distance marker points so that if you do have an accident, that you can quote the nearest distance post.
After slogging it out up Mount Parker Road, you will see the sign below, on the left hand side of the road, at the first for in the road. Welcome to Hong Pak Country Trail.
