An anticyclone aloft brought generally fine weather to the south China coast yesterday. Locally, it was mainly fine and very hot. Temperatures over the territory rose to 33 degrees or above in the afternoon. The anticyclone aloft is expected to persist over the south China coast today and tomorrow, while a southwesterly airstream will bring a few showers to Guangdong in the middle and latter parts of this week.
Besides, an area of low pressure over the seas east of the Philippines brought unsettled weather to the region yesterday.
Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Monday, 13 Jul 2020):Mainly fine apart from isolated showers in the morning. The minimum temperature will be around 29 degrees. Very hot during the day with a maximum temperature of about 33 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Light to moderate southerly winds.
